My first blog

I'm not known for my blogs. In fact, I'm not known TO blog. Alright...the truth is I have never blogged. Until now. This is my very first blog........at least I think it is. Maybe I've blogged before without knowing it. To be honest, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A BLOG IS! So....am I blogging right now? I hate to admit it, but I really don't know.

It would probably be smart to do a little research to find out if this "blogging" thing is good or bad.....wise or foolish.....righteous or sinful......masculine or feminine.......up or down.....in or out.......over or under.......legal or illegal.......moral or immoral.........HEY! THIS COULD GET SERIOUS! To make sure I don't get into trouble, I'd better find out just what a blog is.

  • A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal ONLINE DIARIES. (Wikipedia)

Well......okay. With this info, I at least know WHAT a blog is and HOW it's usually used. So the questions I must now answer are: (1) Is it wrong to blog? (2) Is it wrong for ME to blog? (3) Should I blog? (4) Am I too old to blog? (5) Am I even interested in blogging? and most importantly: (6) WILL I actually become.....a BLOGGER?

  1. Hello,
My name is Travis, I don't go to your church but I have some dear friends that do. I was just checking out your website and came across your recent blogs and wanted to encourage you in them. Hebrews 10:23-25 came to mind at some of your last questions. Though it sounded like there was some humor in your blog about whether it was good or not, I believe it is a very useful tool in reaching the lost. A pastor from my church maintains a blog and puts notes from his sermons, quiet times and other resources he comes across that would encourage people in their relationship with Jesus. Though, it may not fit the need of your church, a blog can be a very useful tool in reaching the lost and encouraging the saints. Just a couple thoughts from a brother in Christ.

here is the URL to his blog if you want to check it out.
